Getting RasMol
Obtain RasMol (or RasMac, for Macintosh), version 2.6b2, from the RasMol Home Page at
http://klaatu.oit.umass.edu:80/microbio/rasmol/
This web site is constantly being expanded and revised. Follow links from the RasMol Home Page to find out if there is a version appropriate for your computer, as well as for guidance in downloading and installing the program.
Two versions of the RasMol Manual are available: 1) a frames version, which is easy to navigate and use on line, and 2) a single-page version, which you can download and use when you are not connected to the internet. If your computer has a Windows or Mac OS environment and enough memory, it is convenient to run RasMol and Netscape at the same time and thus have the manual available when needed. Both versions of the manual contain much more information than is available by way of the RasMol help command, and they contain many internal links that allow you to move around in the manuals by clicking on highlighted terms.
