Instructions for Switching between Netscape and Excel

At this web site, the Netscape browser is configured to launch Microsoft Excel when a URL points to an Excel spreadsheet. At the top of the computer screen, Biochemistry MCDB 108AL spreadsheets will look something like the image below

If you wish to switch back to the Netscape window for any reason, without closing Excel, click and hold down the mouse button on the image in the upper right corner and drag the pointer down to the Netscape icon in the pull-down menu before releasing the button as illustrated below.


To quit the Excel program (i.e., close it) without quittingNetscape, bring the Excel spreadsheet window into view, as described above, click and hold down the mouse button on the File option on the menu bar in the upper left corner, and drag the pointer down to the Quit option before releasing the button as illustrated below.

When the pop-up window appears asking you whether you wish to save the spreadsheat, select the"No."


Similarly, to quit the Netscape program (i.e., close it), bring the Netscape browser window into view, click and hold down the mouse button on the File option on the menu bar in the upper left corner, and drag the pointer down to the Quit option before releasing the button as illustrated below.
