Essential amino acids

The essential amino acidsView drug information are phenylalanine (tyrosine can be synthesized from phenylalanine), the branched chain amino acidsView drug information valine, leucine, isoleucine, threonine; and methionineView drug information and lysine. Histidine and arginine are essential for rats. Some plant proteins are relatively deficient in essential amino acidsView drug information, whereas animal proteins usually contain a balanced mixture.
