PYRIMIDINE METABOLISM
Body_ID: HC029010
Uridine monophosphate (UMP) is the precursor of all pyrimidine nucleotides within a cell. The de novo pathway ends with the synthesis of UMP, and which is then converted to cytidine triphosphate (CTP) and thymidine triphosphate (TTP). Several salvage pathways also exist for cells to use preformed pyrimidines.
